This notice supplements the site’s Privacy Policy and is provided in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679, the Italian Data Protection Code, and Italian legislation regarding cookies and other tracking tools.

  1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites can store on the device used by the user, such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Cookies allow, for example, the proper functioning of the site, remembering the selected language, storing consent preferences, and enabling the use of content or services provided by third parties.

In addition to cookies, similar technologies may be used, such as scripts, pixels, local identifiers, and browser storage systems. In this notice, such tools are collectively referred to as “cookies.”

  1. First-party and third-party cookies

Cookies can be:

  • first-party, when they are installed directly by the visited site;
  • third-party, when they are installed or managed by a party other than the site owner, for example as a result of integrating widgets, reviews, videos, maps, social networks, or other external services.

For third-party cookies, the external party may act as an independent data controller according to what is stated in its own privacy notice.

  1. Types of cookies used

Technical and strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation, security, and proper display of the site.

They may be used to:

  • enable navigation between pages;
  • manage the site language;
  • ensure technical security;
  • verify proper browser functioning;
  • store preferences expressed in the cookie panel;
  • prevent the banner from being shown again on each page visited.

Their use does not require user consent, as they are necessary to provide the requested service.

Preference and functionality cookies

These cookies allow the site to remember certain choices made by the user, such as preferred language, and to provide enhanced functionality.

When such cookies are not strictly necessary for the provision of the service, they are installed only after user consent.

Statistical cookies

Statistical cookies allow the collection of information about site usage, such as the number of visits, pages viewed, browsing duration, and any technical errors.

Statistical tools that allow the identification, distinction, or tracking of the user are activated only after consent.

Any statistical systems configured to produce exclusively aggregated and properly anonymized data may be treated, in cases permitted by law, in a manner similar to technical cookies.

Marketing and profiling cookies

These cookies may be used to analyze browsing behavior, create profiles related to user interests, measure advertising campaigns, or display personalized content and advertisements.

They are not installed without prior user consent.

  1. Multilingual management via WPML

The site uses WPML – WordPress Multilingual Plugin to manage language versions of pages.

Depending on the WPML features actually enabled, the following technical cookies may be used:

Cookie Purpose Indicative duration Type
wp-wpml_current_language Stores the current language used to correctly display content Up to 1 day or according to configuration Technical, first-party
_icl_visitor_lang_js Stores the detected or selected language when browser language redirection is active Generally 1 day Technical, first-party
wpml_browser_redirect_test Verifies whether the user’s browser accepts cookies necessary for language redirection Session Technical, first-party

The actual presence of each cookie depends on the WPML settings active on the site.

  1. Trustpilot widgets and reviews

The site may display reviews, ratings, and links provided by Trustpilot A/S, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The integration of Trustpilot content may involve the communication to Trustpilot of technical information, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device type;
  • page visited;
  • date and time of request;
  • data related to interaction with the widget;
  • identifiers stored via cookies or similar technologies.

Trustpilot declares that it uses strictly necessary, functional, statistical, and marketing cookies.

When the widget involves the installation of cookies or the activation of non-technical tracking tools, the related content is loaded only after user consent.

In the absence of consent, the site may display a static element, a link, or a message that allows the user to choose whether to activate the external content.

The updated list of cookies used directly by Trustpilot, their purposes, and retention periods are available in the cookie notice published by the provider.

  1. Updated list of cookies

The presence, name, and duration of cookies may change following updates to the site, plugins, or external services.

The analytical list of cookies actually detected, divided by category, provider, purpose, and duration, can be viewed through the panel:

[BUTTON: MANAGE COOKIE PREFERENCES]

The panel must be accessible at any time also via a permanent link placed in the site footer.

  1. Method of collecting consent

Upon first access to the site, a banner is displayed through which the user can:

  • accept all optional cookies;
  • reject all non-necessary cookies;
  • individually select desired categories;
  • continue with technical cookies only;
  • view this Cookie Policy.

Before consent is given, identifying statistical cookies, marketing cookies, profiling tools, or external content involving tracking are not activated.

Simply continuing to browse, scrolling the page, or closing the banner does not constitute consent to the use of non-necessary cookies.

Closing the banner therefore maintains the default settings, with only technical cookies active.

  1. Withdrawal or modification of consent

The user may modify or withdraw previously given consent at any time through the command:

[BUTTON: MODIFY COOKIE PREFERENCES]

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

The user’s choice may be requested again if:

  • processing conditions change significantly;
  • new services or new third parties are added;
  • the previous choice cannot be verified;
  • the period provided by law or by the consent management system configuration has elapsed.

  1. Managing cookies via browser

The user can also configure their browser to:

  • view stored cookies;
  • delete cookies;
  • block all or some cookies;
  • receive a warning before installation;
  • prevent the use of third-party cookies.

Disabling technical cookies may compromise some site functionality, such as language selection or preference storage.

Settings must be managed separately on each browser and device used.

  1. Legal basis for processing

The legal basis for the use of technical cookies is the necessity to provide the service requested by the user and to pursue the legitimate interest of the controller in ensuring security and proper functioning of the site.

The legal basis for the use of non-anonymized statistical cookies, optional functional cookies, marketing cookies, and profiling cookies is user consent.

Consent is optional and may be withdrawn at any time.

  1. Recipients and data transfers

Data collected via cookies may be processed by:

  • the data controller;
  • authorized personnel;
  • providers responsible for site maintenance and hosting;
  • providers of the WordPress platform and related plugins;
  • parties providing external services embedded in the site;
  • public authorities in cases provided by law.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the transfer takes place in compliance with the conditions set forth in EU Regulation 2016/679, through adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other applicable safeguards.

More detailed information on any transfers is available in the privacy notices of the respective providers.

  1. Rights of the data subject

In cases provided by law, the user may exercise the rights of:

  • access to their personal data;
  • rectification or updating;
  • erasure;
  • restriction of processing;
  • objection to processing;
  • data portability;
  • withdrawal of consent;
  • obtaining information on data recipients;
  • lodging a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.

Requests may be sent to:

[PRIVACY EMAIL OF THE CONTROLLER]

The controller will respond within the timeframes provided by applicable law.

  1. Changes to the Cookie Policy

The controller may update this Cookie Policy following regulatory, technical, or organizational changes or the introduction of new services.

The date of the last update is indicated at the beginning of the document. Users are invited to periodically consult this page.
